
When Capital opened for business in 1939 as the Capital Typewriter Company, offices operated much differently than they do today. Large companies often had “steno pools” full of secretaries and typists who spent their entire day creating and filing paper documents. Managers rarely did their own typing or filing, and offices were much more compartmentalized. But the digital revolution changed everything, and we’ve spent the subsequent eight decades responding to the demand for industry-leading technology to keep small businesses productive.
